Back!
Quién lo diría, las vueltas que da la vida. Después de meses de dejar absolutamente abandonado este blog, vuelvo para retomarlo. Tengo menos tiempo que nunca pero aún así las ganas de seguir haciendo de esto algo vivo resurge, y puede que esta vez lo consiga.
El Erasmus se terminó, volví a casa y se puede decir que ha sido uno de los veranos mejor aprovechados que he tenido hasta hoy. Con más ganas que nunca de estar con los míos, creo que el Erasmus me ha hecho querer aprovechar cada uno de los días, y no dejar pasar ninguna de todas esas cosas que quiero hacer.
Y hablando de propósitos, he vuelto a UK para pasar otro año más aquí. Esta vez supongo que de una manera distinta. El ansia de independizarme un tiempo más, ganar experiencia laboral, seguir dándole caña al inglés, seguir conociendo gente y nuevos lugares, y sobre todo ahorrar para el máster. Creo que a muchos nos da la sensación que si no tienes un título de máster te vayas a quedar en nada... Aunque debo admitir que también tengo muchas ganas de poder especializarme en lo que me gusta.
Así que e aquí mis propósitos para este año. En España no estaba el panorama para intentarlo. Así que me decidí rápidamente venirme de nuevo aquí sin saber con lo que me iba a encontrar, pero esperaba que al menos los sueldos iban a estar bastante mejor pagados. 10 días después de estar echando currículums por todas partes, ya estaba trabajando en la recepción del hotel Ibis Cardiff. Lo que peor llevo es tener que levantarme a las 6 AM para llegar al trabajo a las 7, pero estoy contenta con el trabajo, sobre todo con el resto de los trabajadores! He tenido mucha suerte, o aquí se encuentra trabajo bastante fácil... Quizás ambas cosas, no sé.
Espero que todo ello sirva para algo, y que este año sirva para crecer en todos los ámbitos!

Pensamientos y noctambulismo
Las dos de la mañana y otra vez pensando en que no puedo dormirme. Y si no puedo dormirme será porque estoy pensando en algo, ¿no? pero si pienso que algo no me deja dormir será porque en realidad no hay nada concreto que me quite el sueño, ¿o si hay algo que yace inconsciente? Deberé indagar en lo que revolotea por esta cabecita loca, noctámbula, hiperactiva e inquietada que no sabe desactivarse en el momento idóneo. Qué perfecto sería poder apretar un interruptor en el que dijera "Off" o "apáguese de una puñetera vez" -más cercano al vocablo urbano castizo-. O simplemente que mi yo interno pudiera decirle a mi cabeza de la República Independiente de mis Órdenes y Deseos que se callara de una maldita vez.

Hiya!
We've just ended editing & creating the app. It's been such a busy week and I think we should start to write the 2000 words essay. It's time to sum up all we've been doing these days. We can say that we've been finally designing and not writing or drawing anymore. We've been learning a lot with Photoshop, doing research to see the way other apps have developed their pages, etc. So we have a lot of work done now working with Photoshop, now it's time to put them all together and see how it works in a Simulator.
Apart from that, we have to start writing the essay. I think I really appreciate is a group work this time cause we can divide the work and help each other in those aspects that we don't know or we have difficulties. For example, in my case we could say it's good cause she helps me how to write essays and to improve english. In other hand, I prefer creating the logo and also working with technologies, which is one of my passions. Although I am not a big Photoshop expert, I enjoyed so much with this work learning little by little how to create different app pages.
I am enjoying so much the work with my module partner as we meet to go anywhere in the city and we start working easily. For example, last week we meet on Sunday to go to Starbucks and we had such a good time planing what we wanted to do. Also in the end of our meeting the Starbucks' boss asked if we wanted the rest of muffins there were left and they had to throw away. So we had muffins for free! Can you imagine? Yummy. The final say about all this is that I am very happy to have met Astrid because of this project. She's such an amazing person and friend with the same hobbies and tastes as me, so it's great to work with somebody I can have a coffee after doing work too :)

Editing on Photoshop CS
Hi there!
What's up? Astrid and I have been creating the app pages after a long time thinking what to put in each of them. We used Dropbox to share the pages as long as we were creating them. We divided the work and we saw what the other was doing through Dropbox.
We firstly decided which type of font, size & colour we wanted to use due to do it both in the same way and make them look fine.
Font: Papyrus
Colour: #911c1c
Size: 48 pt; 30 pt -depending if of the title or the main content-

Final logo
Hi you!
I've been working to create some of the pages of Locate app. First of all, I forgot to tell you about the Locate meaning as I was more interested into showing you guys how we were developing our logo. I didn't know we would spend so much time on that, cause the logo didn't seem as the most difficult thing as we want it to be very clear, functional and simple. But a brainstorm of ideas came to us, and I decided we should work a little more on it and incorporate something which was meaningful for the app. So I once showed you our first logos I created with Photoshop as first ideas I had. But I want to show you how it is going to be the final logo.
We tried to build our new logo, but as it were some new little objects we wanted to put togethere we asked for a little help to our teacher to help us. As you can see there is a world, which is strongly related with 'travelers'. And there's another drawing which is a fork with a little sausage on top. The fork means eaters or restaurants to eat, and the sausage stuck on it is like when we poke a tack to mark the place you want to go in a map. So these are both meanings we wanted to include: first of all the word travel, global, world and the other one restaurant, eat, food.
