& I REST IN PEACE FOR ALL ETERNITY

Logo

Hi there!
Here I show you briefly some of the ideas we have as possible logos for our Locate app. We still have
to decide which one is going to fit best with our app. Do you think any of them is the right one? Let us know which one would you choose and why. It is important to get feedback from others. And whether is positive or negative, this is the only way to achieve our goals.

thanks to Emma L. Crane to help us!

Analyzing currently existing apps

Morning! How are you?

It's 7:20 and I've just woken up from a long sleep. My timetable turned a little crazy from a few weeks ago. However, I want to make the most of every day so I decided it was the right time to change unhealthy habits and try to take profit of waking up earlier.

I must confess I didn't have enough time to keep writing and I swear I was having a lot of ideas in my head to keep working in this project. But I have found a little space now, so let's show you how things are going.

Me and my project partner Astrid have been analyzing the competence market. We've been looking up some other apps related with the search of food, restaurants and so on. I'm going to show you some interesting apps we think they can help to develop our own app better, such as description, features, reviews, and how are these apps build. Today I'll start with the first one which it's called Urbanspoon. So here it goes!

Urbanspoon provides quick, up to date information on local restaurants. Users can view lists for their area or search for a specific location. Each restaurant page is as detailed as possible and gives users a place to provide a rating or review and read those posted by other users. Urban Spoon provides users with just about everything they could want to know about local restaurants.

Description 'Can't decide where to eat? Urbanspoon can help. Shake your phone and Urbanspoon suggests restaurants near you. Keep shaking until you find a restaurant you'd like to try'.

Content
- Minor Bug fixes
- Fixed Nexus 7 photo upload
- Fixed Facebook login bug
- Fixed several photo upload bugs
- Added ability to update user location from more places within the app
- Additional sorts for nearby restaurants

After doing a search in my apps phone, I barely found specific ways to look up concrete restaurants. You can search restaurants randomly because it gives you a original way to fisicaly move your phone and the app will search a restaurant by its own. But in terms of features, I think it should be more specific when searching a type of restaurant. Reviews are quite good, it has a 4,1/5 stars. Reviews are generally positive, but some of them complain about a poor design:

"It works, but it ain't very pretty. Perhaps they should follow the 'Hollo' design guidelines set out by Google. It'll be quite the improvement over status quo."

"As a tool, it has potential, but currently, it needs to undergo some major development.

"The app is really basic and not in a good way. Ads are trash, the icon couldn't be more ugly. I don't know I don't use it anymore because I'd rather just search online. There should also be a filter to get rid of fast food and chain restaurants."

Design, functionality, speed and utility are the main aspects people look for in their phones. As the last reviewer said: 'I don't use it anymore because I'd rather just search online': if you want a deeply search you will do it within your laptop, but the important things of apps shouldn't be a deep research, but a simple, quick and useful search.

So as this is one of the wider searchers I found and very popular, we will look at the positive features such as create a community, map & reserve options.
